App bundles offer an easy way for yourcustomers to purchase up to 10 of your paid iOS apps at a reduced price.Customers who previously purchased one or more apps in an app bundle can usethe Complete My Bundle feature and will see the bundle price adjusted toaccount for those previous purchases.

Creating an App Bundle

Users with the Admin, Technical, AppManager, or Marketer role have access to create and manage an App Bundle.

To create an app bundle, pick at least twoiOS apps you want to include, give your bundle a name, write a description, andset a price on iTunes Connect.

You create an app bundle by creating aseparate iTunes Connect record for it, just as you did to create the recordsfor the individual apps. On My Apps, click the plus sign and select CreateBundle to bring up the Create Bundle page.

On the Create Bundle page, give your newbundle a unique name and add up to 10 iOS apps into it. You can add apps eitherby dragging their icons into the box or by selecting the plus sign from Apps inThis Bundle on the left side of the page. Only apps that have at least oneapproved version appear for selection.

The first app you select to be part of thebundle is called the primary app. The following app bundleinformation is determined based on the primary app in the bundle:

• First placement in the bundle icon, apppreview, and screenshots
• Category
• Primary language
• Privacy policy (if the app contains one)
• LicenseAgreement
• Copyright
• TradeRepresentative Contact Information (if applicable)
  

To make a different app become the primaryapp, drag the app icon or select the plus sign from Apps in This Bundle on theleft of the page to add an app and drop it into the first (leftmost) slot inthe box.

The apps in a bundle must have a compatiblecombination of formats. All apps must be device-compatible with the primaryapp. As you add or delete apps in the bundle, the compatibility will berecomputed.

• You can add the following devicecombinations:
  

• iPad + Universal
• iPhone + Universal
  

• You can’t add the following devicecombinations:
  

• iPhone + iPad
• iPhone + iPad + Universal
  

• Apps that contain only tvOS binaries cannotbe a part of an app bundle. However, apps that have both iOS and tvOS binariescan be part of a bundle.
  

Contents of an App Bundle

Most of the app bundle details are derivedfrom the set of apps in the bundle, including:

• Icon. The bundle icon is generatedfrom the icons for the first four apps in the bundle (or you can create acustom bundle icon; see Creatinga Custom Bundle Icon).
• Screenshots. App bundles can display amaximum of ten screenshots, with an equal number of screenshots represented foreach app. For example, if your app bundle contains five apps and each app hasfive screenshots, only two screenshots from each app will be displayed for yourapp bundle. If your app bundle contains three apps, of which two apps havethree screenshots each but one app has only one, then only one screenshot willbe displayed from each app.The order of the screenshots is based onthe order of the apps in the bundle. The screenshots can be rearranged only asthe apps in the bundle are rearranged.
  

• App previews. Apps that have an apppreview will always display it in place of the first screenshot.
• Ratings. The rating is determined bythe highest rating among the apps in the bundle. For example: if the bundleconsists of apps with 12+ rating and 9+ rating, the app bundle will have arating of 12+.
• Made for Kids. All the apps in thebundle have to be Made for Kids and have all the same age-band for the bundleto be listed in the age-band categories on the App Store.
• Available localizations. Localizationswill be derived from the common localizations across all of the apps. Theprimary localization is the primary language of the first app in the bundle.
• Keywords (not displayed in iTunesConnect). The bundle gets every keyword from every app in the bundle.
  

The Create Bundle page guides you to addthe bundle-specific information. The following metadata is required for yourprimary language unless otherwise indicated. Additional localizations areoptional.

• App bundle name.
• App bundle description.
• Price. You specify the price tierusing the same App Store Pricing Matrix used to price your individual apps. Theprice you specify must be strictly less than the total of the prices of theapps in the bundle. Otherwise, the bundle may not be available on the AppStore. The price tiers are broken down to Compatible Price Tiers and IncompatiblePrice Tiers.
